I-75/M-21 (Corunna Road) bridge rehabilitation to begin

STARTING DATE: Monday, April 6, 2009 
ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE: August 2009
PROJECT: Reconstruction of the M-21 bridge over I-75 is scheduled to begin Monday, April 6. This project will include a complete bridge replacement, demolition of a former state police post building, the proposed addition of a ramp auxiliary lane and 10-foot non-motorized path with fencing, along with additional safety upgrades.

Status Update: Everyone involved on this project is preparing for the concrete deck pour.  Barring inclement weather the deck pour is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday nights 6/22 & 6/23. These lane closures are placed approximately two miles north and south of the M-21/ I-75 interchange.

The following lane closures on NB & SB I-75 are required but not limited to the ongoing bridge work: 

MDOT is recommending using I-475 as an alternate route in order to avoid traffic delays.

DETOUR INFORMATION

Westbound M-21 traffic will be detoured north on I-75 to Pierson Road, then loop around to head Southbound on I-75 to M-21.

Eastbound M-21 traffic will be detoured southbound on I-75 to Miller Road, then loop around, heading northbound on I-75 to M-21.

Green Road Bridge, over the Kearsley Creek between State Road(M-15) and Henderson Road

Effective immediately, the Green Road Bridge over the Kearsley Creek between State Road (M-15) and Henderson Road in the Township of Atlas will be closed until further notice.

This bridge closure is required for the safety of the traveling public

Lovejoy Road, over the Yellow River Drain between Duffield and Murray Road

Effective immediately, the Lovejoy Road Culvert over the Yellow River Drain between Duffield Road and Murray Road in the Township of Argentine will be closed until further notice.

This road culvert closure is required for the safety of the traveling public.

Seymour Road, over Montrose Drain between Willard Road and Lake Road

The Genesee County Road Commission in conjunction with Montrose Township is pleased to announce the reconstruction of Seymour Road Culvert over Montrose Drain.

Starting Monday, October 13, 2008, Seymour Road Culvert over the Montrose Drain (between Willard Road and Lake Road) will be under construction for replacement.  The detour route is Lake Road, Nichols Road, and Birch Run Road.

Weather permitting, construction is expected to be completed on or before Wednesday, November 26, 2008.
