Special Transportation Permit, For Single and/or Overweight Vehicle
With Combination Load, Over County Highways.
Who Must Apply:
Owner or their agent of any oversize, overweight vehicle and/or
combination with load, desiring to travel over county highways,
under jurisdiction of the Genesee County Road Commission, whose
vehicle weight and/or oversize dimensions exceed the State Statutory
Limits.
Applicant's Procedure And Requirements:
- The owner or their agent, of any vehicle that is oversize,
overweight and/or combination with load, shall apply for a permit
for a particular move, over a specified route, giving all pertinent
information relative to the over legal limits prior to the date
of the actual move
- After a Special Transportation Permit is issued, the owner shall
have the copy of the approved permit, in the vehicle and/or equipment
being moved, for the duration of the move.
- A Certificate of Insurance with the following minimum coverage
must accompany any application for a Special Transportation Move
Permit. Acknowledgment of a ten- (10) day cancellation notice
to the Genesee County Road Commission shall be stipulated.

P.D.L. Each Accident $ 100,000.00
- Permits will not be issued for overweight vehicles, exceeding
axle loads of 700 lbs. per inch of tire width.
- No oversize and/or overweight move permits shall be issued for
moves occurring on Saturday, Sunday or Holidays.
Commission's Procedure:
- Permit personnel shall process and administer the permit application
and keep record on file of each permitted move along with the
required Certificate of Insurance for reference in the event verification
of the permit is requested by an enforcement agency.
SINGLE OVERSIZE PERMIT:
(Not exceeding Cab Card Limits) $ 15.00
SINGLE OVERSIZE AND/OR OVERWEIGHT PERMIT:
(Exceeding Cab Card Limits) $ 25.00
SINGLE MOVE PERMIT - CUSTOMER BILLING SERVICE:
Deposit is Required $ 500.00
Permit Applications may be faxed to the
Permit Department with billing at the end of the month.
